I listen to A LOT of podcasts. Some have stuck around for a long time and some are newer to me. Podcasts are a great way to learn and be entertained while you are doing something else.
I’m always looking for new podcasts that offer new perspectives and information. Hope you find something new here you can fill your ears and mind with.
Here are my current Favorite Fertility / Motherhood / Birth Related Podcasts
I would recommend these to just about any mom, pregnant woman or partner, or anyone in the preconception phase. I’ll probably do a part 2 list
Evidence Based Birth - a great resource. I found this during my third pregnancy when I was looking up information about red raspberry leaf tea for uterine toning (which is episode 139) and I got totally hooked and listened to just about every episode. It definitely helped me going into my third birth with more confidence and knowledge.
I recommend going back to the early podcast episodes to find the more straight-forward episodes on big topics like ‘Pros and Cons of Membrane Sweeping’ (Ep 6) or ‘The Evidence on Labor Induction for Gestational Diabetes’ (Ep 78) or ‘Failure to Progress’ (Ep 159). I love the research and evidence behind everything Dr. Rebecca Dekker talks about but it’s still very easy to digest. There are also lots of episodes of birth stories too.
The EBB website has lots of print out information designed to be brought with you to your OB appointments to help you ask questions and feel prepared with evidence! If a client had specific questions on a birth related topic, I would probably look for an episode of EBB on that topic as a resource.
Healthy As A Mother - hosted by two functional medicine doctors (Dr. Leah Gordon & Dr. Morgan McDermott) who specialize in fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood and are busy moms. They dive into nutrition, lifestyle, genetics, and environment and how these factors play into health, particularly surrounding both female and male fertility and early pregnancy. They dive into parenting, postpartum, newborn care, menstrual cycle, and so so much more. Their tagline ‘for becoming and being a mother’ really sums it up perfectly.
Dr. Leah Gordon created the fertility component on the course I took to become a Certified Nutrition Consultant through Oh Baby School of Holistic Nutrition. I know more about her and what she does through that and she is just an incredibly knowledgeable doctor and woman. She also is a core formulator of Needed, which is the premier supplement brand for women and men’s reproductive and general health.
Not a bad idea to have a pen and paper ready when listening because they give a lot of information, tips, and ideas to bring up to your care provider based on symptoms.
Episode Spotlight:

#51 - Trimester Breakdown: Focus Points + Tips
#104 - Boosting Egg Quality for IVF, Egg Freezing & Natural Conception
#116 - 8 Root Causes of Pregnancy Loss
#121 - Pregnancy + Homebirth w/ Type 1 Diabetes w/ Dr. Gina Cummins
The Sage Mother Podcast - hosted by two physicians - who are also friends and girl-moms. This podcast has more episodes about the nitty gritty of baby care, motherhood, and raising happy, healthy children. I just love hearing how other moms process through big decisions - such as ‘When Someone Else Helps Raise Your Child: Real Talk on Navigating School & Childcare’ (Ep 51).
They also talk a lot about the expectations society places on mothers and the lived experience of motherhood from many perspectives. Burnout, self-doubt, working mom, stay-at-home mom, breastfeeding, starting solids - this is a great podcast to learn something new and feel less alone in motherhood.
